Name: 'Scratch' Comma
Race: Robot
Age: Not new. Probably very old.
Gender: Male, presumably.
Physical Description: Scratch is a broken robot. One can tell that he once passed as a human, but now many parts of his silicone skin have been torn and ripped off. Specifically, the whole left half of his face, leaving a glowing green eye exposed, along with plain view of his iron skull. His right arm has no skin at all, and is just the workings of a robot, pistons and joints.
He wears a torn, sleeveless red vest and burgundy, billowing pants. They're pretty thick, but even still have a few slashes through them. He has a crimson tattered scarf with black patterns of fire on it. He's mended it quite a lot. He wears a sort of shapeless black beret-type hat, bit it's more simple, without the acorn thing at the top. He also made that, seeing as his hair is pretty singed and unsightly. He stands around the height of an average fifteen-year-old, thought slightly thin and lanky.
Personality: When they made Scratch, they left something out. What they left out was, simply put, a need to stop. He seldom speaks and never smiles, even though he technically has half a mouth to do so. He sees it as his duty to protect people, but he himself is a danger sometimes. To others, and himself. He is an invaluable ally, but a crippling one. He'll save you, but just as soon slit your throat if he thinks you deserve it.
But he does have a soft side. He enjoys knitting and sewing, and will help a bat back to its mother if it's helpless. He rarely is nice to humans, because of past experiences, but he knows not all of them are evil. He enjoys the company of Mimiga and Droll a lot more. Gaudi he just sees as dumb bugs.
Personal History: Scratch was created by machine scientists who really didn't know what they were doing. Yes, they could create artificial intelegence. But they didn't balance it propperly, and he pulled a frankeinstein as soon as they put his brain in his silicone-encased skull. AKA, he blew that Popsicle stand. Or rather, flew the coop. Or in layman's terms, he destroyed the lab by punching a computer in the face. He survived with little injuries, and stole one of the scientists' vehicles, a wing/rocket pack-type thing that let him fly away. He blacked out on the ride, and crashed into the island.
Now, here's where things get weird. He wakes up on the Outer Wall, and climbs to the Plantation. He stumbles around for a while, and meets a human. Long story short, this human is a jerk. Evil ensues, and Scratch hates humans. Then he starts wiping his memory every year, so he never has to remember the bad things that happens around him. So all of this is obtained from his journal, which skips over the unpleasant parts quite a lot.
Weaponry He wields two weapons, sometimes in tandem. The first is a gun, named the Northern Lights. It fires swathes of green, pink, red, blue or yellow energy, partially ment to dazzle the opponent. The energy moves relatively slowly for a laser weapon, but when the target is hit it feels like shockwaves and painful vibrations rack through their body. The auroras can move through flesh, but not solid objects. The pain focuses mainly on your teeth and eyes, making it slightly hard to concentrate. Effects may last for up to twenty seconds after you're hit, just enough to make you not want to get hit again. He got it from a Gaudi gunsmith. Up until then, he'd been punching.
His second weapon is a blade he calls Gram. It's a broadsword in a size more fitting to his stature, and it is very special to him. The blade is ridiculously sharp, and enchanted to stay that way. It has been known to slice through boulders. The sword also vibrates when being wielded, so not many can hold it for long without having their arm numbed, but Scratch is a robot.mso no nerves to wreck. Even so, it can hurt his calibrations, so he never does so for long. He traded one of his guns for it to a Witch.
Magical Tallents: None. Though, his sword is enchanted.
Strengths and Weaknesses: An extremely accomplished fighter, rather agile, and good with words when he wants to speak. Also a skilled seamster. But, he is a detriment to society, and has little defence against magic. He is not a people person so that can make him enemies, and has basically no sense of self-preservation. Which is a large problem.
Other: Scratch resets his memory logs once a year, on his 'birthday'. This habit he started who-knows-when, after some devastating things happened in his life. This has lead to his decline into antisociality. He does, though, keep a journal.
